Partnerships built on manaakitanga make a real difference.
We are one of the community organisations supported through Contact’s new Good Initiative, a programme designed to help social agencies and heartland community groups across Aotearoa by covering their energy costs.
By taking care of our power bills, Contact has enabled us to free up funds that can now go directly toward supporting whānau who need it most.
“Contact’s ongoing support covers power bills for our transitional whare for wāhine and our social supermarket, directly helping thousands of whānau access kai and reducing food waste,” says Liz Cassidy-Canning, Chief Executive of Whare Āwhina.
“Every dollar saved on electricity goes back into supporting our community. This partnership shows the real impact we can achieve together in Te Taitokerau.”
A Partnership Grounded in Manaakitanga
Contact is helping us ensure that whānau across Northland have access to housing, kai, legal support, and pathways toward wellbeing. He mahi tahi, he mahi toa - together, we achieve more.
